TPO waterproofing membranes: pre-applied for basements and roofing

TPO membranes combine an ageing-resistant thermoplastic polyolefin sheet with a watertight butyl adhesive layer; sheet-to-sheet seams are heat-welded instead of glued.

TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) is a heat-weldable thermoplastic that stays flexible at low temperatures and resists ageing. With pre-applied TPO membranes, seams between sheets are hot-air welded into one monolithic layer; weld quality can be probe-tested along the full length and any defect re-welded on the spot.

VNA distributes three Keshun TPO lines: Aquaprufe APF-D110 pre-applied for base slabs of below-grade structures; Aquaprufe APF-D100 butyl self-adhesive for below-grade structures, concrete roofs and metal roofs; and Aquaprufe TPO exposed roofing membrane for industrial and civil buildings.

Frequently asked questions

HDPE or TPO membrane for a basement base slab?

Both are pre-applied membranes that bond to the concrete cast on top. HDPE offers high tensile and puncture resistance with self-adhesive lap seams. TPO is more flexible and its heat-welded seams are less sensitive to edge conditions (moisture, dust) and can be probe-tested. The choice depends on site conditions and project requirements.
